Behind the Collection

It’s the most wonderful time of the year (and what a year it’s been). It’s a time when we celebrate life and those we love. A time when we give the best of ourselves. At J.Jill, we’re embracing the season with hope and joy. We’ve translated that sentiment into a collection inspired by the regeneration, renewal and self-reflection of the winter solstice and the freshness of a first frost. Warm, cozy layers in traditional textures like cable knits and cashmere, as well as new takes on Fair Isle, buffalo check and other season-right patterns fill our latest collection. A palette of snowy winter whites, calming greys and bittersweet-berry reds gives you new options to express your personal style and reflect the wonderment of the holiday. Here’s to many fireside moments and perfectly cozy outfits to match.

December arrives, enchanting us all with the beauty of the first snow and the comfort of family, friends and abundant laughter.

Shades Inspired by a Snowy Night

A deep, dark sky behind slowly moving clouds, snow falling on the ground and droplets of water glistening on winter berries create an idyllic winterscape. This is just some of the inspiration for the color palette of our newest collection. Not-so-basic black and tranquil greys are highlighted by cream and winter white, while shades of red add a festive flair. These colors look amazing together, but they’re also ideal for creating sophisticated and elevated monochromatic outfits.

Unique Approaches to Style

It’s a season of whimsy and wonder, so we wanted our collection to reflect that through unique touches and details, as well as with amazing fabrics and fabric treatments. For instance, if you roll up the sleeves on our double-cloth shirts, you’ll reveal a complementing color or pattern. It’s like a little surprise every time you wear one. Then there’s the lofty softness of our plush chenille—it feels magical. Plus, a Weston the Dog intarsia design on a classic pullover sweater adds an adorable touch of whimsy.

New Takes on Winter Nautical

We’re especially drawn to seafaring style right now. That’s why we’ve added fisherman-inspired cable knits, navy-blue stripes and quilted outerwear to our collection. Designed in flattering fits and feminine shapes, these styles are as city-ready as they are sea-inspired.
